My former profession as an art conservator involves the restoration and conservation of art objects. There are many specialties in conservation; my focus and expertise is with European Old Master paintings.
The field is competitive and involves knowledge of art history, science, and skills in fine art. Working with an institution requires a Masters degree in Conservation. In addition one can work privately and gain expertise by apprenticing with experienced individuals.
